Number of diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan reaches 86
Currently 55 foreign embassies of Azerbaijan, five representative offices, nine general consulates, and 18 missions to international organizations operate abroad.
In turn, in Azerbaijan function 53 embassy, three general consulates, 12 honorary consulates, and representatives of 20 international organizations.
This statistics was noted in the statement released on September 27 in the speech of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov at the Fourth meeting of the heads of the diplomatic service of Azerbaijan. On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times.
