Official structures do not confirm report of attempted terrorist act against diplomatic mission in Baku
A number of media outlets reported today that the State Security Service of Azerbaijan detained an armed man who attempted to enter one of the diplomatic missions in Baku.
It was alleged that in November 2023, a certain M.H.Huseynzade was conducting surveillance, and then tried to penetrate into the building of the diplomatic mission of a foreign state and used weapons to commit a terrorist act. As a result of an operation carried out by SSS officers, he was detained and disarmed.
It is also reported that the Sabail district court of Baku arrested Huseynzadeh for 4 months on charges of terrorism motivated by religious fanaticism.
However, the State Security Service does not report anything about such a case and the Sabail court does not confirm Huseynzadeh's arrest.
"In November, Sabail district court did not consider the case of a person with this surname and a terrorism-related case," the court told Turan.
