Opposition Forces Announced Creation of National Council
Late in the evening of 28 May, following intensive consultations between the major opposition forces, they reached an agreement on the establishment of the National Council.
The decision was taken at a meeting of opposition politicians, which began immediately after the end of the rally on the occasion of the Republic Day in the village Novkhani.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the parties "Open Society" (Sulhaddin Akbar), Liberal Party (Avaz Temirkhan), the People's Front (Ali Kerimli), the "Classic" People's Front (Beybala Abil), the EL movement (Eldar Namazov) and the Musavat Party ( Isa Gambar).
Namazov told Turan the meeting discussed the founding documents of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF).
By correspondence the discussions was also joined by Rustam Ibrahimbekov, Rasul Guliyev, Mirmahmud Miralioglu and Lala Shovket.
Following the consultations, they agreed on the text of NCDF founding declaration and its composition.
NCDF includes more than 100 politicians, civil society activists and intellectuals.
In the coming days, NCDF will hold its first meeting and announce the declaration of NCDF and membership in its Board.
NCDF is designed to consolidate all the opposition forces to ensure the democratic presidential elections in October 2013 and the reform of the political system of the country. -03B06 -
