Opposition parties mark the 141st anniversary of the birth of Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh

On January 31, the 141st anniversary of the birth of Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh, one of the founders of the Azerbaijan People's Republic, is being commemorated. Today, activists from the "Musavat" party, the Azerbaijan Popular Front, and the National Council of Democratic Forces visited the monument to Rasulzadeh in his homeland – the village of Novkhani near Baku.

"Rasulzadeh still lives in the hearts of the people because he dedicated his life to the progress of the Azerbaijani nation. As for the names of those who were against him, they are forgotten," said Jamil Hasanli, Chairman of the National Council.

Ali Kerimli, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, stated that Rasulzadeh's ideas embody the freedom of the nation. "As Rasulzadeh said, nations need not only freedom but also the freedom of every individual," he noted.

"For seventy years, the Soviet government fought against Rasulzadeh. Then for 30 years, the current government of Azerbaijan has fought against Rasulzadeh. But they have never managed to defeat him, because Rasulzadeh was selfless, honest, and impeccable. He wanted nothing for himself. He did everything for his people. "We must learn to love Azerbaijan from Rasulzadeh," Kerimli concluded.
