Pashinyan at a meeting with Mishustin accused Baku of blocking communications
Baku/03.02.23/Turan: Armenia's security situation is very bad due to the “blocking” of the Lachin corridor, which actually is not under the control of Russian peacekeepers. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated on Friday in Alma-Ata at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“Now we can say that a humanitarian crisis is developing in Nagorno-Karabakh. This is a very important and sensitive issue in our bilateral relations,” Pashinyan said and added that “no progress is planned in this direction.”
According to him, the opening of regional transport communications fails because of the "destructive" position of Azerbaijan. As for Armenia, it is ready to ensure free movement "in accordance with the legislation of those countries through territories of which communications pass."
In turn, Mishustin noted that Russia consistently stands for the unblocking of economic and transport ties in the Transcaucasus.
“We think it is important to ensure the implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. All states in the region are interested in the creation of new transport infrastructure routes.” ---02D---
