Baku/16.12.21/Turan: At the meeting with Azerbaijani President in Brussels we reaffirmed our agreement on the construction of Yeraskh-Julfa-Ordubad-Meghri-Goradiz railway.  This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the government session on December 16.

"This agreement was fixed during the meeting in Sochi on November 26 and is now registered in Brussels," Pashinyan said.

He noted that the railway would operate in line with internationally recognised border and customs regulations, on the principle of reciprocity, under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries.

He said he hoped that if a dialogue with Turkey was initiated, Armenia's railway communication could be extended to Kars.

"We want to have a railway as soon as possible. This is an important agreement which I hope we will implement to thereby significantly change the economic, investment, political and security environment in the region," he concluded.  -02D-
