Pentagon Set Up a Direct Channel With Moscow
The U.S. military has indeed set up a channel to communicate directly with the Russian military to prevent “miscalculations" over the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine, a U.S. official confirmed to TURAN on Friday.
Washington retains a number of channels to discuss critical security issues with Moscow during a contingency or emergency, the official said.
“The Department of the Defense recently established a deconfliction line with the Russian Ministry of Defense for the purposes of preventing miscalculation, military incidents, and escalation,” another Pentagon official confirmed.
