Baku/21.12.23/Turan: Following the arrest of journalists from the online publications "Abzas Media" and "Kanal 13", police have confiscated the bank cards of the journalists themselves as well as those of their close relatives.
The journalists' lawyers told Turan that the salary accounts of the following journalists were seized at the request of the Baku City police department and the Sabail district police department: Hafiz Babaly, Ulvi Hasanli, Sevinj Vagifgyzy, Nargiz Absalamova, Aziz Orujev, Togrul Veliyev.
In addition, the pension card of Sevinj Vagifgyzy's mother, the salary account of Ulvi Hasanli's sister and his mother's pension card, the salary account of Aziz Orujev's wife and his mother's pension card, and the pension card of Hafiz Babaly as a third group disabled person were blocked.
"When I asked "Kapital Bank" why my card had been blocked, I was told that our bank accounts had been frozen at the request of the Sabail district police," Aziz Orujev's wife, Lamiya Orujeva, told Turan.
The journalists' family members are currently being looked after by relatives and close friends.
The Interior Ministry's press service did not respond to a request for comment on why the journalists' parents' accounts were blocked. -03-
