Police stopped the rally of the "Musavat" party near the Iranian embassy
Baku/15.11.22/Turan: The police prevented the protest of the activists of the "Musavat" party in front of the Iranian embassy in Baku. The action was held in protest against the suppression of peaceful protests in Iran, the violation of the national and cultural rights of ethnic Azerbaijanis in this country, as well as the recently increased threats from the Tehran regime to the sovereignty and national security of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The executive power of Baku did not authorise the action. However, the party decided to hold a peaceful demonstration on Tuesday at 3:00 pm. However, the police blocked in advance all passages to the embassy.
At about 3:00 pm, the police began to detain the activists near the public garden named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov. Everyone who chanted the slogans “Freedom, justice, national government!”, “Down with the mullah regime”, etc., was subjected to detentions. Dozens of people were detained, including the head of the "Musavat" party Arif Hajili, the press secretary of the party Mustafa Hajibeyli and others. ---06С---
