President of France Called President Ilham Aliyev
Baku / 28.09.20 / Turan: French President Emmanuel Macron called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the presidential press service, Macron expressed his country's concern about the armed conflict on the line of the Armenian-Azerbaijani contact and stressed the importance of the settlement of the conflict through negotiations.
Ilham Aliyev, for his part, emphasized that the Armenian leadership deliberately violates the negotiation process. The statement of the Armenian leadership that “Nagorno-Karabakh is Armenia” dealt a serious blow to the negotiations.
Another statement by the Armenian leadership that “Azerbaijan should hold negotiations with Nagorno-Karabakh” is an attempt to change the format of negotiations, which is also unacceptable, as the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship noted.
During the telephone conversation, Ilham Aliyev also reported on the ongoing military provocation committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan on September 27.
As Aliyev noted, as a result of heavy artillery shelling of Azerbaijani positions and settlements along the front line, civilians and servicemen were killed, and the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are responding with successful counteroffensives.
The President of Azerbaijan said that the responsibility for the further development of events related to the military provocation of Armenia lies with the political and military leadership of Armenia.
During the telephone conversation, the parties agreed to establish contacts through diplomatic channels. -16d-
