President of Radio Liberty criticizes the blocking of the website in Azerbaijan
Baku / 06.06.18 / Turan: The leadership of Radio Liberty has criticized the decision of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, which upheld a decision on blocking the site of this radio station. "In 2014, the government of Azerbaijan, in violation of all laws and procedures, closed our bureau in Baku and launched an attack on all independent media," said Thomas Kent, President of Radio Liberty, and added that the decision of the Supreme Court on June 4 was a continuation of the previous policy.
On May 12, 2017, the Sabail District Court, by its decision, approved the blocking of websites: azadliq.org, azadliq.info, Meydan.TV, Turan.TV and www.azerbaycansaati.tv in December 2017. The Baku Appeals Court upheld this decision.
In December 2014 the Azerbaijani authorities closed the Baku bureau of Radio Azadlig. - 16D-

Activist Nijat Ibrahim, who was detained in Baku pre-trial detention center-1, inflicted numerous wounds on himself on November 20 in protest against unjustified criminal prosecution, his wife Parvin Ibrahim told Turan. According to her, on November 21, her husband called her and informed her that the day before he had inflicted incised wounds on himself with a piece of mirror. In particular, he cut his throat and ears.
