Prosecutor proposed to punish Armenian citizens charged with terrorism
Baku/28.02.22/Turan: The trial of two Armenian citizens accused of terrorism, Ishkhan Sargsyan and Vladimir Rafaelian is nearing its completion at the Sabunchu district court building in Baku.
The trial in this case is being conducted by the Ganja court for grave crimes.
Today, the prosecutor convicted the two defendants of the alleged crimes and sentenced Sarkhsyan to 20 years of imprisonment, and Rafaelian to 19 years.
According to the indictment, the aforementioned Armenian citizens are military servicemen and members of an intelligence group.
On May 27, 2021, they crossed the state border of Azerbaijan in Kalbajar region and were detained while mining the road near Yukhary Ayrym village. They were charged under Articles 214.2.3 (terrorism with use of firearms), 228 (illegal trafficking of arms), 318 (illegal border crossing) and 282 (subversion) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.- 16B-
