They demand the publication of the preliminary results of the investigation into the death of Azerbaijani opposition activist Bayram Mammadov in Turkey.
Their joint statement said that Turkish police called the death of the activist on May 4 in Istanbul "suspicious." Thereafter, the police did not provide any data or comments.
The recordings from CCTV cameras in the territory where Bayram Mammadov fell into the sea and drowned were not made public. The silence of the Istanbul police and the Azerbaijani authorities raises suspicions about the veracity of the announced version, the statement said.
In this regard, the authors of the appeal called on the authorities of Turkey and Azerbaijan to inform immediately about the preliminary results of the investigation and the circumstances of the death of the activist. The authorities of Azerbaijan and Turkey should be interested in the effectiveness of the investigation in order to put an end to various speculations around the death of Mammadov.-03D-
