Putin discussed opening communications in the region with Erdogan and Pashinyan
Baku/24.06.21/Turan: On June 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
As reported by the Kremlin press service, the parties discussed topical issues of Russian-Turkish cooperation in various fields.
The exchange of views on the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh was continued. A positive assessment was given to the work of the Joint Russian-Turkish Center for Controlling the Ceasefire and Military Operations. The President of Turkey supported Russia's efforts to fully implement the agreements in the statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan dated November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021.
The parties confirmed their readiness to coordinate actions for economic development and restoration of the region's transport infrastructure.
On the same day, Putin had a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan. Putin congratulated Pashinyan on winning the parliamentary elections and wished him success in forming a new government.
During the exchange of views on Nagorno-Karabakh, the importance of implementing the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021 was also emphasized. The Russian side will continue active mediation efforts aimed at ensuring stability in the region, the report says.
