Putin has questions for Pashinyan
Moscow /21.11.21 / Turan: Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on November 21, during a telephone conversation, the second this week, discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh and measures to stabilize it. This was announced on Sunday by the Kremlin press service.
"The discussion of the situation in the region and measures taken to stabilize it continued in the context of the implementation of the trilateral agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021.
Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude for the active mediation efforts of Russia. It was agreed on further contacts, "the message says. On Tuesday, during a previous conversation, Putin and Pashinyan discussed the situation after serious battles on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and Pashinyan's appeal to Putin for military assistance.
The press release does not say on whose initiative the conversation took place. However, it is known that Moscow was surprised that Pashinyan refused the already agreed meeting with Ilham Aliyev, mediated by Putin on November 9. Almost immediately after that, he agreed to the same meeting, but with the mediation of the head of the European Union Charles Michel.
The refusal of the Moscow meeting coincided not only with an aggravation on the border and new territorial losses, but also with the dismissal of Armenian Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan, who was called Moscow's protege. At the same time, a man was appointed in his place, who for a long time was among those who actively scolded Russia, demanding the withdrawal of Armenia from the CSTO and Evrazes. -02D-
