Rauf Mirkadyrov responds to allegations of the Prosecutor General
A journalist Rauf Mirkadirov arrested on charges of treason issued a statement through his lawyer Elmar Suleimanov, in which replied to the statements of the Attorney General about his collaboration with the secret police in Armenia.
"From the statement of the General Prosecutor it comes out that the Prosecutor General's Office has some collaboration with the secret police in Armenia for discrediting political figures and independent journalists. From the statement of the prosecutor's office it can be concluded that the parties carry out joint operations in this directions," reads the statement Mirkadirov. He noted that recently the Attorney General's office used in such concocted cases the “information” from such people as "Samvel" working in the secret services of Armenia.
"But I do not want to believe and do not believe in the existence of such an agreement. However, the investigation once again convinced me that perfect slander against me is a small part of a large-scale provocation against Azerbaijan on the part of the Armenian secret service and its strategic ally. Unfortunately influential groups in Azerbaijan for some reasons turn into executors of this great provocations," said in a statement Mirkadirov.
A press release from the Attorney General and the Ministry of National Security, published on July 16 stated that materials "exposing" Mirkadirov on two discs were transferred to two citizens of Azerbaijan in Tbilisi by some Armenian named "Samvel". -0 –
