Resource Center Condemns Violation of Rights of Entrepreneurs in Nakhchivan
The Nakhchivan Resource Center for Democracy and NGO Development condemned mass closure of catering in this region.
In the application, this NGO states that the authorities closed food service facilities (cafes, teahouses) and to resume, the owners must obtain a permit from the authorities of Nakhchivan.
In Nakhchivan and around, nearly 160 cafes have already closed. To obtain permission to resume activities they are required a large bribe. The dissatisfied are persecuted and threatened. Many entrepreneurs are leaving the region.
Such actions of the authorities are regarded as the arbitrariness and violation of constitutional rights, and the freedom of assembly.
Human rights activists believe that authorities have launched reprisals on the eve of the presidential election of 2013.
The document contains a demand to stop the illegal activities, or migration from Nakhchivan will increase even more. -05D04-
