Road in place of "Javanshir" bridge opened
On 5 August, a new road was opened on Baku's Uzeyir Hajibeyov Street, built in place of the dismantled Javanshir bridge.
Note that a 4-lane road 400 metres long was built in place of this 202-metre wide, 17.3-metre long bridge.
The authorities have justified the need to demolish the bridge by its dilapidation and to expand the capacity of the road. However, these claims are viewed with skepticism, because immediately after the bridge the road narrows and it is impossible to widen it due to residential houses.
