Baku/05.09.23/Turan: Russia values constructive relations with Armenia, but it is impossible to agree with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's theses about the failure of the mission of Russian peacekeepers, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Tuesday.

"Russia is an absolutely integral part of this region, so it cannot go anywhere. Russia cannot leave Armenia," Peskov said.

He urged not to forget that "there are more Armenians living in Russia than in Armenia itself," most of whom are patriotic citizens of the Russian Federation and make a worthy contribution to the development of the country. Peskov also stressed that Russia continues to play the role of a guarantor of security in Karabakh and is not going to curtail its mission.

"Russia continues to play a consistent, very important role in stabilizing the situation and deconflicting in this region. Russia is not leaving from nowhere and is not going to leave," he said.

On September 2, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan gave an interview to the Italian edition of "La Repubblica," in which he stated that Russia is not fulfilling its mission in Karabakh and is gradually withdrawing from the South Caucasus region. ---0--
