Russia is not against Turkey's participation in the Karabakh settlement - Erdogan
Istanbul / 23.10.20 / Turan: Turkey has the same right to participate in the peace process on Karabakh as Russia, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters on Friday.
He recalled the words of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev about Ankara's participation in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
Azerbaijan states that if Yerevan is in favor of Russia's participation in the peace process, then Baku proposes to involve Turkey. That is, both Moscow and Ankara should be at the negotiating table,” Erdogan said.
"Turkey is interested in resolving contradictions and peace in the region no less than Russia," the president stressed.
According to the Turkish leader, Russia itself does not have any claims regarding Ankara's participation in the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
“Personally, I have not heard any negative comments from Russian officials on this issue,” Erdogan said.
President Erdogan further drew attention to the testing in Sinop province of S-400 complexes acquired by Turkey from Russia. -02D-
