Russia launched missile strikes on Ukraine from the territory of Belarus
Baku/25.06.22/Turan: Russia seeks to draw Belarus into the war, the General Staff of Ukraine said on Saturday.
Thus, more than 40 missiles were launched today on the territory of Ukrainenear the city of Mozyr, which is 50-60 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, including from the territory of Belarus. For this, six Tu-22M3 strategic bombers were involved. They launched 12 X-22 cruise missiles in Ukraine while in the airspace of Belarus.
The bombers took off from the Shaikovka airport in the Kaluga region of Russia. Further through the territory of the Kaluga and Smolensk regions they entered the airspace of Belarus.
The blows were inflicted on the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy regions.
"This is the first case of an air strike on Ukraine directly from the territory of Belarus. Today's shelling is directly related to the attempts of the Kremlin authorities to draw Belarus into the war in Ukraine as a direct participant," the Main Directorate of Military Intelligence of Ukraine said in a statement.
Also, rocket strikes were made in Zhytomyr, Lvov, Chernihiv regions. A number of missiles were shot down in the air.
It is also reported that the Russians are preparing sabotage in the Belarusian Mozyr in order to blame the Ukrainians for this. Russian sabotage groups are planning to blow up houses, schools and hospitals. This will be presented as missile strikes from Ukraine, the same source said. --02D--
