Russia 'On Its Back Foot' In Ukraine, U.S. Says
Washington D.C./06.06.23/Turan: The State Department said on Monday that it believes Russia has been "on the back foot" in Ukraine, TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.
"I do believe that Russia is on its back foot in this war, and so I hope the Kremlin will re-evaluate their presence, cut its losses, and leave Ukrainian territory immediately," Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel told TURAN's Washington correspondent.
The move comes amid speculations that Ukraine’s much-anticipated counteroffensive might have begun.
Patel refrained from getting into specific battlefield assessments, when asked by TURAN about the latest on the front line.
The Ukrainian government over the weekend released a video of troops putting a finger to their lips, urging less speculation about the counteroffensive.
"Plans Love Silence," read the tagline.
