Russian ambassador invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan
Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Yevdokimov was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 28 January.
"During the meeting it was noted that publications in the Russian press, as well as reports of disinformation nature of some official circles of Russia against our country, create misunderstanding and contradict the content and spirit of the Declaration on Allied Co-operation between Azerbaijan and Russia," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry press release said.
"It was noted that the preliminary results of the investigation into the tragic crash of the AZAL aircraft are known, work is underway to complete the investigation, and we have openly stated our expectations from Russia regarding the incident," the report said.
As for the information about the Russian House in the local press, it was stated that this is "not an official position" and that the activities of such organisations should be based on the principle of reciprocity and in accordance with the requirements of the law, the press release reads.
