Shoigu and Akar discussed Karabakh conflict
Ankara / 12.10.20 / Turan: Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu on Monday.
The heads of the defense departments of the two countries discussed the situation in the zone of the Karabakh conflict, in Syrian Idlib and in Libya, the press service of the Turkish Defense Ministry said.
In his conversation with Shoigu, Akar stressed the need to stop the shelling of Azerbaijani settlements from Armenia and the withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied Azerbaijani lands.
“Armenia violates the humanitarian truce regime. Yerevan must immediately withdraw its troops from the territory of Azerbaijan. Baku cannot wait for justice for another 30 years. Turkey is ready to support the fair position of the Azerbaijani side,” the Turkish minister said.
Referring to the situation in northwestern Syria, Hulusi Akar noted that Ankara is taking steps to ensure the safe return of internally displaced persons to their homes in the Idlib de-escalation zone.
Regarding the development in the Libyan conflict zone, the Turkish minister noted that Ankara stands for a stable, independent and sovereign Libya in the light of the UN Security Council resolutions. -02D-
