Baku / 15.09.20 / Turan: The head of the Garadagh regional branch of the party, MP Aydin Huseynov has been appointed the new head of the organizational department of the ruling Yeni Azerbaycan Party (YAP), according to a source in YAP.
Huseynov replaced another parliamentarian, Siyavush Novruzov, who was disgraced by his participation in the wedding despite the quarantine bans.
For the presence at the wedding of the granddaughter of the former head of the presidential administration Ramiz Mehdiyev.
Novruzov was dismissed from the post of deputy executive secretary of the ruling party and head of the organizational department.
Prior to that, he and his wife - Ombudswoman Sabina Aliyeva, were fined for violating quarantine.
After that, Novruzov publicly accused Ramiz Mehdiyev of deception, stating that he went to the wedding only because Mehdiyev said that Ilham Aliyev had allowed the wedding to take place, which turned out to be a lie. -06D-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
