Skirmishes in Karabakh and Yerevan's refusal to discuss the Zangezur corridor
Baku/12.09.22/Turan: The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan denied the reports of the Armenian side that on Monday the Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired on the village of Girmizy Bazaar and the village of Tagavard, in the Khojavend region of Karabakh (the former Martuni region).
The Armenian side claims that the shelling of these settlements was carried out on the night of September 12, as well as on Monday afternoon. Armenian telegram channels have been writing for several days that Azerbaijan is preparing for a new military operation. Reports of shelling from the Armenian side are intended to justify the upcoming operation. Ambassador-at-Large Edmon Marukyan openly stated this today; and the speaker of the parliament, Alen Simonyan, said that Armenia is waiting for Azerbaijan's provocations at any moment.
Simonyan noted that Yerevan is closely following the statements of the Azerbaijani side. "Azerbaijan has always resorted to this strategy to put pressure on the negotiation process. But we will not sit quietly and pretend that these statements mean nothing," he said. Sinomyan also stressed that Armenia will not discuss the issue of the Zangezur corridor. --0--
