Skirmishing on the Nakhchivan section of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border
Baku/14.07.21 / Turan: The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported on a shootout on the Nakhchivan section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
"On July 14, at approximately 10:00, units of the Armenian armed forces fired at the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the Sadarak region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border,"the report says.
As a result of the skirmishing, a serviceman of the Azerbaijani army, Mardanly Ibadulla Magsudoglu was wounded, the press release notes.
The wounded man was given first aid following which he was evacuated to a medical facility.
"The enemy was suppressed by return fire. At present, the situation in this direction is stable, the operational situation is controlled by the units of the Azerbaijani troops, " the press release says.
In turn, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported on a death of an Armenian soldier "as a result of a shootout with the Azerbaijani armed forces in the Yeraskh area on the Nakhichevan section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border."
The incident was spotted at 10: 30 on Tuesday.
"The units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces tried to carry out engineering work to advance their positions. The Armenian side has taken a number of measures to force the enemy to discontinue these actions. The Azerbaijani military opened targeted fire on the Armenian positions. As a result of the shootout, an Armenian serviceman was fatally wounded, the Armenian Defense Ministry claims.—06D-
