Smuggling of Large Consignment of Drugs from Iran to Poland Stopped
Baku / 12.08.20 / Turan: Employees of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan stopped the smuggling of a large consignment of drugs transported in transit through the country from Iran to Poland.
As stated in the statement of the State Customs Committee, the employees of the Operational Investigation Department of the Southern Territorial Main Customs Directorate received information about the shipment of a large consignment of heroin from Iran to Poland by rail.
“Based on operational information, on August 6, 2020, a train with a cargo marking Gil (Clay) was detained at the customs post in Astara. During the examination of the cargo, 200.8 kg of heroin were found in 14 bags, ”the press release says.
A criminal case was opened on the fact.
Further investigation revealed that the bags of the original product were produced by an Azerbaijani company registered in the Oguz region. The cargo was first shipped to Iran, and then the bags were filled with drugs for shipment to Poland, the press release says. —03D06-
