Baku/17.05.21/Turan: The country's law enforcement agencies detained eight participants of the incident that occurred on May 16 in the Dmanisi region of Georgia, the message of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A massive brawl took place on April 9 street in the Dmanisi region of Georgia, as a result of which a group of people broke into a store owned by Azerbaijani businessman Gasham Shamilov and attacked him, as well as Azerbaijani youth in front of the store. Eight participants of the incident were detained by the law enforcement bodies of Georgia," it was said in the message. According to the report, the State Committee promptly responded to the incident and contacted the Azerbaijanis living in Dmanisi.
“Several people from the attacking group did not want to pay for the product they bought in the store. This fact caused a conflict. The development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia seriously worries the opponents of peace and stability in the Caucasus region."
The committee believes that what is happening in the Dmanisi area can be a provocation and is purposefully organized. “Considering the above, we urge the Azerbaijanis living in Georgia to treat the incident with caution, not to succumb to provocations and to treat the processes within the framework of the laws of the Georgian state. We inform you that the State Committee for Work with Diaspora is sensitive to the incident in the Dmanisi region and constantly keeps it in the spotlight," the message says. –0--
