Rumors about the serious health of ex-premer Suret Huseynov
Baku/31.07.23/Turan: Today, information about the sudden death of ex-Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Suret Huseynov (1993-1994) appeared in social networks and on a number of websites. According to some sources, he died in the Czech Republic, according to others, he fell into a coma in Istanbul. Huseynov's relatives do not comment on these reports in any way.
Suret Huseynov is known for launching a military revolt against the Popular Front government in June 1993, forcing President Abulfaz Elchibey to resign. As a result, Heydar Aliyev came to power, who made Suret Huseynov Prime Minister. However, a year later Huseynov was accused of preparing a new rebellion and removed from office. He later fled to Russia, where he hid until 1997. After that, he was extradited to Azerbaijan and convicted. In 2004, he was pardoned. ---02B---
