Talks between Russian and Ukrainian delegations begin in Istanbul
Baku/29.03.22/Turan: Another round of talks between Ukrainian and Russian delegations began in Istanbul's Dolmabahce Palace on 29 March. A member of the Ukrainian delegation, Mikhail Podolyak tweeted that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had first addressed the negotiators.
"The continuation of the war will not benefit anyone. Restoring peace will be good for your two countries and for others. You as delegations have a historic responsibility for the decisions that are made today," Erdogan said.
The Ukrainian delegation is led by Defence Minister Aleksey Reznikov and the Russian delegation by Presidential adviser Vladimir Medinskiy.
The talks between the delegations were preceded by a one-on-one meeting between Medinskiy and the head of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Ukrainian "Servant of the People" Party, David Arahamia. -02D-
