Tehran and Baku to Launch Joint Website for Online Shopping
Azerbaijan and Iran will launch a joint website to purchase goods on the Internet, said the Minister of Information Technology Mahmoud Vaez yesterday in Tehran during a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ramin Gulizadeh.
The new website will facilitate electronic commerce and enable the purchase of goods by citizens of the two countries, Vaez said. According to him, the sellers in Iran will use the postal system, the postal bank and the Payam airport for the shipment and delivery of goods purchased.
It is expected to create a separate office responsible for the launch of the site and the creation of e-commerce, IRNA quoted Vaez.
Vaez also noted that the relations in the field of communications and information technologies between Azerbaijan and Iran are on the rise, especially in the field of postal and e-commerce.
Tehran should use Baku’s experience in satellite technology, and Baku should use Iran's achievements in information technology.
Vaez called on Iranian companies to participate in the Bakutel exhibition in Baku in December.
