Tehran claims Azerbaijan's involvement in terrorist attack in Shiraz
Baku/07.11.22/Turan: The coordinator of the terrorist attack in the mosque of the city of Shiraz was an Azerbaijani citizen. This was announced on November 7 by the Ministry of Information and Intelligence of Iran. It accused Azerbaijan of organizing a terrorist attack on October 26 in the mosque of the city, where at least 13 people were killed.
“At the moment, 26 people have been arrested, all of them are non-Iranian citizens. The main coordinator of the attack was a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan. All those arrested are citizens of Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan,” it was reported.
“The main link in the leadership and coordination of operations within the country was a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who took off from the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku and arrived at Imam Khomeini Airport. After arriving in Tehran, this person reported his presence to the coordinating body in the Republic of Azerbaijan. He immediately contacted the network of foreign nationals of ISIS through the operational headquarters in Afghanistan and announced his presence in Tehran.
The terrorist who shot people in the mosque was a citizen of Tajikistan, nicknamed "Abu Aisha," the report says.
Thus, Tehran for the first time accused Baku of organizing a terrorist act on the territory of Iran. These allegations came days after the Azerbaijani State Security Service arrested groups of pro-Iranian militants who were plotting terrorist attacks in Azerbaijan.
Official Baku has not yet responded to Tehran's latest accusation. -02B-
