Telephone conversation between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Israel
The Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Israel, Ceyhun Bayramov and Israel Katz, discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries, international and regional issues, and the current situation around Gaza in a telephone conversation. The message about the conversation that took place on June 28 was distributed by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry today, July 1.
Bayramov stressed the importance of achieving an early ceasefire in Gaza, preventing civilian deaths on both sides, and a peaceful settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The upcoming works and plans within the framework of Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICA) in 2024-2026 were also discussed.
Bayramov told Katz in detail about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, about large-scale reconstruction work in the territories liberated from occupation, the fight against the mine threat, as well as about the Azerbaijani-Armenian peace process.
It was noted that an additional opportunity has appeared between the two countries for cooperation within the framework of Azerbaijan's chairmanship at COP29. There was also an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.

Activist Nijat Ibrahim, who was detained in Baku pre-trial detention center-1, inflicted numerous wounds on himself on November 20 in protest against unjustified criminal prosecution, his wife Parvin Ibrahim told Turan. According to her, on November 21, her husband called her and informed her that the day before he had inflicted incised wounds on himself with a piece of mirror. In particular, he cut his throat and ears.
