Tent camp for Azerbaijani citizens in Dagestan is still full
Baku/22.07.20/Turan: Another 250 Azerbaijani citizens were taken out of the tent camp near the Kullar settlement in Dagestan to their homeland.
However, 310 people are still in Kullar; 250 live in a tent camp, the rest - outside of it, Turan was told by Afig Allahverdiyev, deputy chair of the National Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis in the Moscow region.
According to him, this organization has compiled a list of more than 130 people who have been in the camp for one and a half to three months. The lists were transferred to the Azerbaijani embassy and in Baku. However, in the end, only 15 people were removed from this list.
In his opinion, the lists are not prepared transparently by the representatives of the parties and there are abuses in this matter.
All this, according to Allahverdiyev, causes discontent among those who remain in the camp. "The situation there is tense. They refuse to talk to people in a human way. Yesterday it almost came to a fight. They do not want to explain to people how these lists are drawn up. People are rudely told to wait their turn.
We help them as much as we can, so that they have at least cigarettes and soft drinks. The heat there is unbearable, it is impossible to breathe," Allahverdiyev said.
He called it especially outrageous not to allow a 19-year-old girl to enter Azerbaijan, who remained alone in Russia and has been living in a camp for more than two weeks.
"We tried in vain to get her to pass yesterday. Three times I contacted representatives of Azerbaijan, but in the end the girl was left in the camp," Allahverdiyev said.
A tent camp for 1200 people has been set up on the Azerbaijani side of the border, and the authorities can transport everyone at once. However, apparently it is beneficial for someone that the camp in Kullar remains. The Azerbaijani state allocates funds for keeping people there, and these funds are administered by officials.
“Inhabitants of the camp talk about receiving bribes by officials from both sides for being included in the group out of turn. Considering that there are places for receiving people in the tent camp in Azerbaijan, these rumors look plausible,” he said. –06B-
