The court halved the term of imprisonment for the former Deputy Minister of Culture
Baku/11.09.21/Turan: The term of imprisonment for the former Deputy Minister of Culture, Rafik Bayramov has been reduced from 8 years to 4.5 years. This decision was made on Monday by the judge of the Court of Appea,l Elmar Rahimov.
It should be recalled that Bayramov was convicted on August 17 this year by the court of serious crimes on charges of corruption and abuse of official position.
Note that Bayramov was arrested in May by employees of the State Security Service together with the head of the Department for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, Zakir Sultanov.
Later on, the case against Sultanov was specified into a separate proceeding. The trial in his case is still ongoing.-16D-
