The Court of Appeal did not satisfy Ibadoglu`s complaint about the lack of effective medical care
Baku/09.10.23/Turan: On December 9, the Baku Court of Appeal did not satisfy the complaint of the arrested oppositionist Gubad Ibadoglu about the lack of effective medical care in the pre-trial detention center.
Ibadoglu is not provided with any medical care, and does not even measure blood pressure, the lawyer Zibeida Sadigova explained. He was twice given incomplete examinations, and the results were given out late. Despite the order of the European Court of Human Rights, Ibadoglu does not have a CT scan of the heart.
In the last two weeks, Ibadoglu complained of spinal pains and only on Saturday a doctor was sent to him. Despite the need for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the doctor who examined Ibadoglu did not give such medical instructions, the lawyer said.
The brother of the oppositionist Galib Bayramov said that at the very beginning of Ibadoglu's deterioration, the family offered to invite doctors from Georgia, but no response was given to this appeal.
*On July 24, the Narimanov District Court of Baku arrested Gubad Ibadoglu for 3 months and 26 days on charges of making counterfeit money. The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry said that Ibadoglu is associated with supporters of Fethullah Gulen, accused of an attempted coup in 2016 in Turkey.
On August 25, he was charged with another charge - "production, storage or distribution of religious extremist materials."
Gubad Ibadoglu denies the accusations, considering them absurd. Many international organizations and officials have called on official Baku to immediately release the politician. The European Parliament called for sanctions against Azerbaijani officials because of the persecution of Ibadoglu. ---21B06---
