The family of the former political prisoner under pressure
An activist of the party "Musavat" Ulvi Guliyev and his family are under pressure, after he accompanied the party leader Isa Gambar to Lankaran. As reported by the party "Musavat", on January 29, the district police officer named Goshgar and three other police officers came to the home of Ulvi Guliyev in Sabail and interrogated Ulvi’s father on the trip to Lankaran, and on the place of the family. A police officer warned that Ulvi will be arrested if he does not stop the political activity.
The brother of Ulvi Guliyev, Zamig was threatened by phone by an unnamed police official of Baku.
The apartment of Ulvi Guliyev was also called by the executive of the Sabail district, as well as the housing department, figuring out who is registered at this address.
The party sees what is happening, as a gross violation of human rights of Ulvi Guliyev and his family members and requires the authorities to put an immediate end and to punish those responsible.
Recall that Ulvi Guliyev is a former political prisoner. He was arrested on April 2, 2011 and was sentenced to two years for disturbing public peace. International organizations recognized him as a political prisoner. In June 2012 he was pardoned. -05D04-
