The Kremlin reacts with restraint to the new Armenian-Azerbaijani aggravation
Baku/11.05.23/Turan: Russia is acting as a mediator on Karabakh and expects restraint from Armenia and Azerbaijan, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said commenting on today's aggravation on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"Just the day before yesterday, Putin had a separate conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan, who was in Moscow, and contacts with the Azerbaijani side are continuing," Peskov said. At the same time, Putin's contacts with Pashinyan and Aliyev against the background of a new escalation between Yerevan and Baku "are not planned at the moment," but Moscow will continue to perform its functions in accordance with the trilateral documents.
"We, of course, expect a restrained approach from the parties and urge them not to take any actions that could increase the tension," Peskov said. --0---
