The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan criticizes Paris for the visit of Sahakyan
Baku / 21.11.17 / Turan: Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry expressed strong protest against the visit of Bako Sahakyan, the leader of the illegal regime in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan to France, stated in the comments of the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev.
The Armenian lobby operating in the EU countries is trying to encourage the illegal regime created in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan in this way, and to prevent the settlement of the conflict through negotiations. In connection with this issue in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, a meeting was held with the Ambassador of France to Baku. The meeting of the Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Paris to the French Foreign Ministry is also planned.
Unfortunately, the French side did nothing to prevent this trip, traveling with the diplomatic passport of the Republic of Armenia, Bako Sahakyan, despite the serious violation of the Schengen visa regulations, which contradicts the commitments of France as the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.
On July 2, 2015 the French government at the level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs sent circulars to local prefectures and commissariats. It contains a warning about the restriction of the powers of local governments in the field of international cooperation. At the same time, a ban was imposed on the signing of documents on international cooperation with illegal regimes, including Nagorno-Karabakh.
Official Baku, based on this instruction, expects the French side to take the necessary steps with respect to local bodies that have signed documents with the illegal regime, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a commentary. -06D-
