The President of Azerbaijan held a meeting on the results of the first half of the year
Baku/11.07.23/Turan: A meeting dedicated to the socio-economic results of 6 months of 2023 was held today under the chairmanship of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Aliyev made a speech at the meeting, some excerpts from which are quoted by the state news agency AZERTAC.
In particular, Aliyev pointed to the growth of Azerbaijan's non-oil industry, which amounted to 6.5 percent. And in general, the non-oil sector increased by more than 3 percent. The financial situation of the country has also significantly improved, Aliyev further noted.
Among the factors that ensured the improvement of the country's financial situation, the head of state called, first of all, "strengthening discipline in the financial sphere, continuing reforms in tax and customs authorities, ensuring transparency." "All these factors allowed us to revise the budget and make clarifications already in the middle of the year. This is very encouraging, as the amount of funds collected far exceeds forecasts," the head of state added. ---06D---
