The Russian Foreign Ministry has eliminated the distortion of the text of the Turkmanchay Treaty
Baku/24.02.22/Turan: Distortion in information about the Turkmanchay Treaty has been corrected on the Facebook page of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
So, in part of the message, after the mention of the Iravan and Nakhchivan khanates, the phrase “Eastern Armenia” was removed.
It should be noted that on February 22, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, in a publication dedicated to the next anniversary of the signing of the Turkmanchay Treaty (1828) on the accession of these two Azerbaijani khanates to Tsarist Russia, they were called "Eastern Armenia". This provoked a protest from the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, which called on the Russian Foreign Ministry to eliminate the distortion. -21B06-
