Baku/30.03.23/Turan: On March 30, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on improving management in the field of water resources, water management and land reclamation.
According to the document, the State Agency of Water Resources of Azerbaijan is being created on the basis of the State Agency of Water Resources of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
JSC "Azersu" and JSC "Melioration and Water Management" are transferred to the subordination of the new agency.
Zaur Mikailov, who previously held the position of JSC Melioration and Water Management, was appointed Chairman of the new agency.
Prior to that, Mikhailov worked as the chief commercial administrator at "Bakcell LLC, was a member of the management of PASHA Construction, was the general director of Port Baku Towers, headed Agro Dairy LLC, part of Pasha Holding. 06B

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
