The US seeks to bring Baku and Yerevan to the negotiating table
Baku/04.09.21/Turan: "There are still issues that are not regulated between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I cannot predict in advance how they will be resolved. The United States is eager to invite the parties to negotiations so that the issues are resolved fairly on an equal basis. This will take some time and efforts." This was stated today by the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger who answered questions of journalists.
The Ambassador drew attention to the fact that during the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland met with the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
According to the Ambassador, the United States seeks to contribute to the resolution of unresolved issues, both within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group and working separately with the parties.
In particular, within the framework of unilateral initiatives it became possible to agree on the return of persons held in Azerbaijan and the issuance of maps of minefields.
"For our part, we will continue to help the parties so that all residents of the region can live together in a peaceful environment. The United States strives to find opportunities for establishing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia," the Ambassador stated-16D06-
