Trial in the case of former Corps Commander General Akperov Begins
Baku/07.05.21/Turan: A preparatory meeting in the case of the former commander of the Azerbaijan Army corps, Lieutenant General Rovshan Akberov will be on July 16 in the Baku military court under Khabib Hasanov. Rovshan Akperov was arrested on charges of premeditated murder – the articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan - 12.1, 120.2.2.
It is noteworthy that the crime was committed in 2001. On the night of May 31 to June 1, businessman Elchin Aliyev was killed with a knife in Kiev. One of the witnesses and the mother of the deceased directly indicated that the killer was Rovshan Akperov.
Then this story was hushed up. Perhaps they took into account Akperov's merits in suppressing anti-government protests in 1994 and 1995 in Baku and Ganja, for which he was awarded the title of National Hero.

According to rumors, the general was extremely unhappy with this and demanded an explanation from the authorities. -02D-
