Turkey earthquake death toll reaches 44,218
Baku/24.02.23/Turan: The total number of deaths in Turkey as a result of the earthquake on February 6 reached 44,218 people. This is stated in the message of the Turkish Emergency Situations Agency AFAD on the evening of February 24.
“In the provinces of Kahramanmarash, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Adana, Adiyaman, Osmaniye, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya and Elazig, a total of 44,218 citizens died.
For 19 days, three strong earthquakes and 9,000 aftershocks occurred in the disaster zone. 528,146 people were evacuated from the disaster zone,” the report says. -0-
