Turkish Army to Render Due Support to Azerbaijan
Baku / 16.07.20 / Turan: Armenia will be responsible for every provocation and attack against Azerbaijan. This was stated by Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar at a meeting with the Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Minister of Defense, Air Force Commander, Lieutenant General Ramiz Tahirov in Ankara on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of the General Staff of Turkey, Yaşar Güler, the commander of the ground forces Umit Dündar, the commander of the Air Force Hasan Küçükakyüz, and the commander of the Navy Adnan Özbal.
The head of the Turkish Defense Ministry recalled that shortly after the provocation of the Armenian Armed Forces on the border with Azerbaijan, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, and he phoned Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov.
Akar promised that against the backdrop of recent events, all necessary measures will be taken.
“We strongly condemn the vile attack on the Tovuz region of Azerbaijan. The pain of Azerbaijan is our pain. The death of the Azerbaijani military will not go unanswered, ”the Turkish Minister stressed, expressing condolences to the families and friends of the military who died while preventing the Armenian provocation.
Hulusi Akar noted that official Ankara at all levels declares that the continuation of the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani lands is inadmissible.
“Turkey supports the valiant struggle of the brothers in Azerbaijan. And all the inhabitants of Turkey say this, including President Erdogan personally. We are guided by the principle of “Two countries - one nation,” the Turkish Minister said.
“Turkey has always been and remains a friend of Azerbaijan. We will continue to support our brothers. Turkey and its army will take feasible steps in this direction. There can be no doubt about this,” the Minister emphasized. -0-
