Turkish Parliament Approves Law on Sending Military to Azerbaijan
Ankara / 17.11.20 / Turan: The Turkish Parliament adopted on November 17 a bill on sending Turkish troops to Azerbaijan. A day earlier, this document was submitted to Parliament by President Erdogan.
According to the document, the Turkish military will work at the Turkish-Russian joint monitoring center in Nagorno-Karabakh for a year.
The military delegations of Turkey and the Russian Federation held negotiations on the technical aspects of the agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh. Discussions in this direction are ongoing. This was announced on Tuesday by the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar at a meeting via videoconference with the participation of the Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces Yashar Guler and the commanders of the military branches.
Akar recalled that shortly after the signing of the trilateral statement on Nagorno-Karabakh, Turkey and Russia approved a protocol on the establishment of an observatory center to monitor the ceasefire regime.
“All these documents form a framework on the basis of which further steps need to be formed. A military delegation has recently arrived from Russia to Ankara. Efforts on this issue continue,” the Minister said.
Akar condemned the actions of Armenia and Armenians destroying houses and forests in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan. -02D-
