Ukrainian town of Dnipro received 20 tons of humanitarian aid from Baku
Baku/11.05.22/Turan: The Ukrainian town of Dnipro has received 20 tons of humanitarian aid from Azerbaijan. The most necessary foods and durable medical supplies have arrived from Baku. They will be distributed among those in dire need - resettlers and defenders, Dnipro town website gorod.dp.ua reports.
"We sincerely thank the Embassy and the people of Azerbaijan for this aid. These include cereals, canned food, oil, flour and many other products that will not spoil quickly. Besides, the Embassy has sent us medical consumables", said Natalia Kostyuchenko, head of the "National Defense Foundation".
The mayor of Dnipro, Boris Filatov, expressed gratitude for the help. He added that Dnipro, as a town with a large Azerbaijani community, will always remember this support.
Note that on 27 February and 12 March Azerbaijan sent to Ukraine and on 15 April to Moldova for Ukrainian refugees about 550 tonnes of humanitarian aid worth over 23.2 million manats. The last cargo of aid was sent to Kiev from Baku on April 21, weighing more than 170 tonnes. It contained medicines and medical supplies worth 3.37 million manats, as well as food items worth 1 million manats.
Overall, Baku has sent 760 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine during the Ukrainian war, worth about 15 million euros.-0-
