U.S. Ambassador Mark Libby arrives in Baku today
Baku/02.12.23/Turan: The new US ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mark Libby, will arrive in Baku tonight, a diplomatic source told Turan.
The arrival of the ambassador coincided with a period of deterioration in relations between the two countries.
On November 15, at a hearing in the US Congress, Assistant Secretary of State O’Brien said that Washington was ending contacts with Baku until a peace agreement was concluded between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
In response, Baku accused the United States of conducting anti-Azerbaijani activities through USAID and other donor organizations.
It got to the point that Baku announced the traditional annual event of the US Embassy - the meeting of Azerbaijani graduates of American universities, an event to instruct the "American agents".-0-
